Yangjah（やんぢゃ）
コリアン・ディアスポラ・アーティスト。在日済州人三世。姫路生まれ、大阪育ち。現在は大阪を拠点に、国内外で活動。
ダンス・パフォーマンスを軸に、詩・声・言語・映像などを横断し、身体から立ち上がる表現を探究している。舞踏やアジアの身体技法を基礎とし、完全即興を中心とした独自の身体表現を継続。観客との境界や空間の性質をゆるやかにほどきながら、「空っぽなからだ」から生起する瞬間の連なりを作品として編み上げている。
パーマカルチャー、セルフボディワーク、手しごと、料理、野草など、暮らしに根ざした実践を日常的に行い、生活と表現が地続きとなる創作を実践。日常と非日常を往還する時間の中で、土地の記憶や身体感覚、他者との関係性をひらく場をつくり続けている。
1998年より舞踏を始め、以降、日本各地および韓国・中国・ネパール・アメリカ・ドイツなどで、音楽家、ダンサー、美術家、映像作家らとのコラボレーションによるパフォーマンスや作品制作を展開。劇場、ギャラリーにとどまらず、運河、銭湯、屋上、美容室など多様な場所で即興表現を行い、空間との関係性を探ってきた。2001年以降は映像やインスタレーション作品の制作も行う。
近年は、オープン・アトリエ・プロジェクト「みのうちひらき」（大阪）を拠点に、月のリズムに寄り添った詩の展示やワークショップ、身体と言葉をひらく実践を継続。また、国内外のアーティスト・イン・レジデンスや展覧会、フェスティバルに参加し、土地や文化、記憶の層と応答する創作を重ねている。
最近の主な作品に、「さすらうこえ＿さすらうからだ」（2024年度大阪文化祭奨励賞）、「うみみず」「島を待ちながら」「空耳」「詩間びらき – Open ShiMa –」など。詩とサウンドによる国際コラボレーションや、美術展でのパフォーマンス、映像作品の発表など、多様な形式で活動を展開している。
海とともに生きてきた地域文化や、記憶が折り重なる土地への関心を軸に、身体と言葉を通して、見えない時間や関係性をすくい上げる試みを続けている。

Yangjah
Dance / Butoh / Video / Installation / Poetry / Permaculture
Yangjah is a Korean diaspora artist of third-generation Jeju heritage, born and raised in Osaka, Japan, where she is currently based and working internationally.
Working primarily through dance and performance, her practice moves across poetry, voice, language, and video, exploring expressions that emerge from the body. Grounded in butoh and Asian body-based practices, she develops improvisation-centered works that dissolve boundaries between performer, audience, and space, weaving together sequences of moments arising from what she calls an “empty body.”
Alongside her artistic practice, she engages in permaculture, self-bodywork, handcraft, cooking, and wild foraging, integrating everyday life into her creative process. Her work unfolds within the continuous flow between daily and non-daily states, opening spaces where bodily perception, memory, and relationships can be reconfigured.
Since beginning butoh in 1998, she has presented performances and collaborative works across Japan and internationally, including in Korea, China, Nepal, the United States, and Germany. She has worked with artists from diverse disciplines, performing not only in theaters and galleries but also in canals, bathhouses, rooftops, and other alternative sites, exploring the relationship between body and environment. Since 2001, she has also created video and installation works.
In recent years, she has been developing the open atelier project “Minouchi Hiraki” in Osaka, creating spaces for poetry exhibitions, workshops, and collective practices aligned with the rhythms of the moon. She continues to participate in artist-in-residence programs, exhibitions, and festivals, engaging with land, cultural memory, and layered histories through embodied and linguistic practices.
Her major works include Drifting Voice_Drifting Body (recipient of the Osaka Cultural Festival Encouragement Award 2024), Umimizu, Waiting for an island, Empty Ears, and Open ShiMa. She has also developed international collaborations combining poetry and sound, and presented performances within visual art contexts.
Her practice centers on coastal cultures and sites where multiple layers of memory accumulate, seeking to rearticulate unseen temporalities and relationships through body and language.

Yangjah（양자）
코리안 디아스포라 아티스트. 재일 제주인 3세. 간사이에서 태어나 오사카에서 자랐으며, 현재 오사카를 기반으로 국내외에서 활동하고 있다.
댄스와 퍼포먼스를 축으로 시, 목소리, 언어, 영상 등을 가로지르며 몸에서 생성되는 표현을 탐구한다. 부토와 아시아 신체기법을 기반으로 완전 즉흥을 중심으로 한 독자적인 신체 표현을 지속해 왔다. 관객과의 경계와 공간의 성질을 느슨하게 풀어내며, ‘비어 있는 몸’에서 발생하는 순간들의 연쇄를 작품으로 엮어낸다.
퍼머컬처, 셀프 바디워크, 손작업, 요리, 야생초 채집 등 삶에 뿌리내린 실천을 일상적으로 이어가며, 생활과 표현이 맞닿아 있는 창작을 실천하고 있다. 일상과 비일상을 오가는 시간 속에서, 장소의 기억과 신체 감각, 타자와의 관계를 열어가는 장을 만들어가고 있다.
1998년부터 부토를 시작하여, 이후 일본 각지 및 한국, 중국, 네팔, 미국, 독일 등에서 음악가, 무용가, 미술가, 영상작가들과의 협업을 통해 퍼포먼스와 작품 제작을 전개해 왔다. 극장과 갤러리에 머무르지 않고 운하, 목욕탕, 옥상, 미용실 등 다양한 장소에서 즉흥 퍼포먼스를 펼치며 공간과의 관계를 탐구해 왔다. 2001년 이후에는 영상 및 설치 작업도 함께 제작하고 있다.
최근에는 오사카의 오픈 아틀리에 프로젝트 「미노우치 히라키」를 거점으로, 달의 주기에 맞춘 시 전시와 워크숍, 몸과 언어를 여는 실천을 이어가고 있다. 또한 국내외 아티스트 인 레지던시, 전시, 페스티벌 등에 참여하며, 장소와 문화, 기억의 층위에 응답하는 창작을 지속하고 있다.
주요 작품으로는 「떠도는 목소리＿떠도는 몸」（2024 오사카 문화제 장려상 수상), 「우미미즈」, 「섬을 기다리며」, 「소라미미」, 「시마비라키 – Open ShiMa –」 등이 있다. 시와 사운드를 결합한 국제 협업, 미술 전시에서의 퍼포먼스, 영상 작업 등 다양한 형식으로 활동을 전개하고 있다.
바다와 함께 살아온 지역 문화와 기억이 켜켜이 쌓인 장소에 대한 관심을 중심으로, 몸과 언어를 통해 보이지 않는 시간과 관계를 길어 올리는 작업을 이어가고 있다.

19 歳で日本の外のアジアに飛び出しカラダひとつでできることを求め、
さまざまなボディワークやダンスを学ぶとともに1998年から舞踏をはじめる。
国内外で公演や映像作品を発表したり、イベントを企画する。
劇場やギャラリーをはじめ運河・銭湯・屋上・美容室などのあらゆる空間で
様々な音楽家・ダンサー・映像作家・現代美術作家との即興のコラボレーションを重ね、即興の可能性を広げている。
ひとりの人間からはじまるちいさな行為の意味を模索しながら、多ジャンルのアーティストや他分野の人々との共同作業を楽しむ。
パフォーマンスやアート作品の発表を通じ、日常と非日常を行ったり来たりする儀式のような時空を共有し、
「空っぽなカラダから満ちあふれてくる瞬間のつらなり」を模索している。
1999年から、大阪・京都・神 戸・奈良・滋賀・瀬戸内・横浜・東京（日本）、
光州・釜山・居昌・ソウル・済州島（韓国）、広州・上海（中国）、カトマンズ（ネパー ル）、シアトル（アメリカ）、ハンブルグ・カッセル（ドイツ）で、サウンドアーティスト・現代美術家・映像作家・テキスタイルアーティストなど様々なジャンルのアーティストとのコラボレーションのパフォーマンス公演する。それらの活動とともに2001年からはインスタレーションや映像 などの作品を制作・発表している。 ビデオカメラの眼でダンスをとらえるプロジェクト 巡海Project <投影／計画＞「うみみず」（2009-) や「bodyscapesketch project」(2011-)がある。
